Think the end of monsoon means the end of that stubborn itch? Not really. Fungi love warm, damp environments, which are still common in the post-monsoon transition. Even after the rain, sweaty skin, damp shoes, or clothes that haven’t dried properly create the ideal conditions for fungal growth.

"Areas like the groin, underarms, under the breasts, and feet are especially vulnerable,” Dr Shareefa Chause, a Mumbai-based dermatologist, tells Moneycontrol. “Unfortunately, most people ignore the first signs, thinking it’s ‘just a rash’. But left untreated, that rash can become a repeat offender,” she adds.
