Prebiotics, on the other hand, are types of dietary fibre that serve as food for these good bacteria, helping them grow and function effectively.”

Prebiotics are special kinds of dietary fibre found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Though indigestible to humans, they serve as essential food for the good bacteria in the gut. “When you feed them right, they return the favour by keeping you healthy,” says Dr. Khurana.
