Rajat Bedi is one of those faces in Bollywood that people instantly recognise, even if they don’t always recall the name. Best known for playing the antagonist Raj Saxena in Hrithik Roshan’s Koi… Mil Gaya (2003), his performance left a lasting mark. But his story stretches far beyond that single role.

Born on January 1, 1970, in Mumbai, Rajat comes from a family deeply rooted in cinema and literature. His father, Narendra Bedi, directed popular films like Jawani Diwani and Benaam. His grandfather, Rajinder Singh Bedi, was a legendary Urdu writer and screenwriter, responsible for timeless classics such as Madhumati and Abhimaan. Rajat’s siblings, Manek Bedi and Ila Bedi Dutta, have also made their mark in acting and writing.

In his personal life, Rajat married Monalisa in 1998, who happens to be the sister of actress Tulip Joshi. The couple has two children, Vivaan and Vera, who occasionally find themselves in the limelight thanks to their father’s enduring association with Bollywood.

Rajat’s career began in modeling when he won the Gladrags Manhunt contest in 1994. His film debut came with 2001: Do Hazaar Ek in 1998, but recognition arrived only after Koi… Mil Gaya. Playing the college bully who mocked Hrithik Roshan’s character, Rajat captured the audience’s attention with his sharp screen presence.
