After a 70-hour manhunt, the police arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a 30-year-old man, early on Sunday morning in Thane, Maharashtra, for allegedly assaulting Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai home.

Shahzad was apprehended near Hiranandani Estate in Kasarvadavali, which is around 35 kilometers from Saif's residence.

The arrest followed an intense search after the actor was attacked by the intruder who allegedly intended to rob him, resulting in severe injuries to Saif. Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.

The Mumbai Police have now disclosed the whereabouts where the accused hid after the attack on Saif Ali Khan. They revealed that the 30-year-old man, who stabbed Saif at his residence, took refuge in dense mangroves near the Reliance labour camp in Kasarvadavali, Thane. Following the crime, he traveled by train from Bandra to Dadar and then walked to his residence in Worli Koliwada. Upon seeing his image on television, he panicked and fled to Thane, where he was eventually apprehended.
