Esha Deol, the daughter of Bollywood icons Dharmendra and Hema Malini, made her Bollywood debut with the romantic thriller Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002 and went on to win the Best Actress Debut Filmfare award. Esha is a trained Odissi dancer and has appeared in a number of films, including Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe, No Entry, Darling, and others. Esha Deol and her co-star Amrita Rao reportedly got into a fight during the filming of "Pyaare Mohan," which is one of the most talked-about controversies of the mid-2000s.

During the filming of Pyaare Mohan, Esha got into a fight with Amrita Rao after slapping her and later claiming she didn't regret it. In an interview with Times of India previously, she revealed that the altercation started after Amrita allegedly mistreated her in front of the crew and director Indra Kumar following pack-up. Esha acknowledged that she felt extremely disrespected and that her natural reaction was to protect her honour.

She stated, "Yes, I slapped her because she crossed a line. It was a matter of self-respect. I have no regrets because, at that moment, she deserved it for her behaviour."
