War 2 trailer passed by CBFC, 2.39-minute promo to drop next week ahead of August 14 release

Yash Raj Films (YRF) continues its relentless momentum in 2025, and the anticipation for its next big release, War 2, has reached new heights. In a major update for fans and trade watchers, the action-packed trailer of War 2 has officially been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The promo, which runs for 2 minutes and 39 seconds, received a U/A 16+ certificate on Friday, July 18, and is all set to be unveiled next week.

The buzz around War 2 is palpable. Slated for release on August 14, the film features a high-octane face-off between two powerhouses of Indian cinema—Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The film also stars Kiara Advani, whose stunning bikini-clad look from the teaser has already created waves online. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 marks his first outing with YRF and will be a significant installment in the studio’s expanding Spy Universe.

Earlier, on May 20, YRF had released the teaser of War 2, which is currently being screened in theatres alongside Saiyaara, another YRF production that opened to a thunderous response today. A trade expert commented, “It would have been ideal if the full War 2 trailer had been attached with Saiyaara. Given its strong box office start, many more viewers could have experienced the trailer in theatres. YRF has often launched big promos this way, following their own tradition. But even with just the teaser, the excitement for War 2 is sky-high.”
