Veteran actor Manoj Kumar left a huge void in the Indian film industry. The actor, who was known for his patriotic roles and socially relevant films, died on April 4. He was 87.
However, Manoj Kumar's last rites, which was scheduled to take place this morning, Saturday, have started. The mortal remains of the veteran actor Manoj Kumar have reached his Mumbai residence.
However, a video recently surfaced on social media showcasing Manoj Kumar receiving gun salute. Following the state honors for Manoj Kumar, police officers have begun escorting his body to the cremation ground. Leading the procession are his son, Kunal Goswami, and his grandsons.
Manoj Kumar’s body was draped in the national tricolour, and he was accorded a 21-gun salute as part of the state honors.
A large gathering of close friends and industry colleagues, including filmmaker Ashok Pandit, came together to bid a final farewell to Manoj Kumar. Many were seen offering comfort and support to one another during the emotional moments.
The cremation will be held at 11.30 AM at the Pawan Hans crematorium, located opposite Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle. The legendary actor was under medical care since February 21 due to chronic heart-related complications. He took his last breathe in Mumbai hospital at 3:30 am on Friday.

Manoj Kumar was widely admired for his patriotic films, earning him the affectionate nickname 'Bharat Kumar'. Throughout his illustrious career, he received a National Film Award along with seven Filmfare Awards. Some of his most celebrated films include Purab Aur Paschim, Kranti, and Roti, Kapada Aur Makaan, among others.
