Vivek Agnihotri's last instalment in the Files trilogy, The Bengal Files, has registered a noticeable drop in box office collections on its first Monday. The film opened in the theatres with a modest collection, and now it has fallen nearly 60% at the start of the workweek.
According to the early estimates by a trade website, The Bengal Files earned Rs 1.10 crore net in India on its first Monday. The film’s total now stands at Rs 7.85 crore net in India.
The film registered 18.24% Hindi occupancy on the fourth day of the release. The historical thriller registered 9.99% morning, 17.10% afternoon, 21.66% evening and 24.19% occupancy in night shows.
The Bengal Files, which is the latest instalment in the director's trilogy, had a mediocre start to its first day at Rs 1.75 crore net in India. The film earned Rs 2.15 crore net in India on its second day of release. The film continued the slow momentum and collected Rs 2.75 crore net in India.
The Bengal Files grossed Rs 2.18 crore on Friday, Rs 3.35 crore on Saturday, and Rs 4.60 crore on Sunday in India. Despite starting slowly, The Bengal Files saw a +111% increase in revenue, earning over Rs 10.13 crore gross in three days over the Indian weekend.
The Bengal Files features an ensemble cast including Mithun Chakraborty, supported by Anupam Kher and producer-actor Pallavi Joshi. Darshan Kumar and Simrat Kaur also star in the key roles.

The other cast members include Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur.
