Taylor Swift to testify in Blake Lively’s explosive lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Taylor Swift has formally agreed to give testimony in the high-profile lawsuit involving her close friend Blake Lively and actor-director Justin Baldoni. A recent court filing confirms that Swift will sit for a deposition, making her an unexpected but potentially crucial figure in a case that has already gripped Hollywood.

Lively filed suit against Baldoni, her co-star and director in It Ends With Us, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation. She alleges that Baldoni, along with producers and publicists, launched an online smear campaign against her after she raised workplace complaints. The trial is set to begin next spring in federal court in New York.

Swift’s testimony is expected to cover private conversations she had with Lively regarding working conditions on the set. According to Variety, Baldoni’s legal team successfully petitioned the court to obtain communications between the two women, despite Lively’s lawyers pushing back against bringing Swift into the dispute.

While Lively has already completed her deposition, her attorneys argue that Baldoni and co-defendants Steven Sarowitz and Jamey Heath are delaying their own testimonies and withholding documents. On Thursday, her team requested that the deposition deadline be extended from September 30 to October 10.
