Swara Bhasker, known for her outspoken nature, has once again made it clear that she won't tolerate unsolicited opinions. This time, the actress clapped back at trolls who questioned why her husband, activist Fahad Ahmad, didn't participate in Holi celebrations this year.
The criticism came after Swara shared glimpses of her joyful Holi festivities with her family on Instagram, and trolls took it upon themselves to comment on Fahad's absence from the celebration.
Not one to stay silent in the face of unnecessary remarks, Swara responded swiftly and firmly, shutting down the trolls with a sharp yet dignified message. Taking to her Instagram stories, she re-shared the pictures and wrote, "Happy Holi ya'll! Gentle reminder: it’s possible to celebrate our festivals and share joy WITHOUT forcing people to participate."
In the photos posted by Swara, she and their daughter, Rabiya, were covered in vibrant Holi colours, having a blast during the celebrations. Fahad, however, appeared untouched by the colours, as he was observing a fast for Ramazan.
While many of Swara's followers celebrated the spirit of the occasion, a few trolls chose to question his decision not to partake in the festivities, with one user asking, “Why didn’t your husband apply colours?" Another sarcastic comment read, “Andh bhakt ka sawal: Tumhare husband ne rang kyu nahi lagaya?" (Blind devotee’s question: Why didn’t your husband play Holi?).

Swara and Fahad got married in February 2023 under the Special Marriage Act and welcomed their daughter later that same year. As a high-profile interfaith couple, however, they have frequently found themselves targeted by online trolls.
Fahad, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, and Swara, renowned for her candidness, have both endured their share of unjust criticism.
