Tamil superstar Suriya is gearing up for his highly anticipated film, Karuppu. He has recently sent his fans into frenzy by releasing the first look poster of Karuppu ahead of his birthday.
Suriya took to his Instagram and shared the powerful poster on Tuesday. The poster was accompanied with the caption that reads, “See you tomorrow!” #Karuppu @trishakrishnan @dop_gkvishnu @vikrammorstunts @kalai_editor @arunvenjaramoodu00 @abhyankkar @irjbalaji @prabhu_sr @dreamwarriorpictures.”
The poster featured Suriya in a rugged avatar. He sported an all-black look with a cigarette in her mouth, surrounded by people in god costumes. The poster teased that Karuppu teaser will be dropping at 10 am on July 23, marking Suriya’s 50th birthday.
The poster instantly went viral on social media with the fans praising Suriya’s new avatar.
He will star alongside Trisha Krishnan in the pivotal role in the upcoming film. Suriya and Trisha will be reuniting after their 2005 film, Aaru.
Swasika, Indrans, Yogi Babu, Sshivada, Natty Subramaniam and Supreeth Reddy star in the supporting roles.
Directed by RJ Balaji, the film features a screenplay written by Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, T. S. Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar.

Karuppu also marked Suriya's 45th film with RJ Balaji and was initially announced on the director's birthday. The film is rumoured to be a courtroom social drama. The highly-anticipated film will delve into serious political themes like social justice and caste oppression.
While the further details of the film have been kept under wraps, there have been speculations that Karuppu will hit the theatre during Diwali 2025.
