Veteran actor Sunny Deol is gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari's grand epic Ramayana as he will play the role of Lord Hanuman. As per the latest reports, the actor has wrapped up filming for the mythological epic.
As reported by Times of India, the actor has already completed shooting for his portions in the first instalment of the film.
Sunny Deol's casting as Hanuman has generated a lot of buzz since he confirmed playing the character in the film.
With Kannada superstar Yash playing the menacing Raavan, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the film boasts an impressive star cast.
Fans can anticipate a much larger presence in the sequel, despite Sunny Deol's reportedly brief role in the first instalment. In the second instalment, Hanuman's pivotal role in the fight against Raavan will take centre stage, providing Sunny with ample opportunity to shine.
Ranbir Kapoor completed the initial shooting schedule back in July. The actor used the occasion to express gratitude to his co-stars, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Ravi Dubey, as well as the entire crew, for their efforts and commitment in realising this vision.
The release dates have already been set by the makers of the film. Diwali 2026 will see the release of the first part of the Ramayana, while Diwali 2027 will see the release of the second part.
Apart from the main trio, the film also has a rich ensemble cast—Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Raavan, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, among other important roles.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol will also be seen in Border 2 alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty. The film will be releasing in 2026.
