The official teaser of Border 2, one of the most awaited Hindi war dramas, has finally been unveiled, setting off an emotional wave both online and offline. Featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in lead roles, the two-minute teaser was released on social media ahead of the film’s theatrical release scheduled for January 23, 2026.

The teaser launch event, however, turned deeply emotional when Sunny Deol made his first public appearance since the sudden demise of his father, legendary actor Dharmendra, on November 24, 2025. The moment quickly became the emotional core of the event, with videos from the launch now widely circulating on social media.

At the event, Sunny Deol was visibly overwhelmed. With teary, reddened eyes, the actor stood on stage and delivered one of the film’s most powerful lines in his signature thunderous voice: “Aawaz kahaan tak jaani chahiye, Lahore tak.” The line, which also features prominently in the teaser, drew loud applause from the audience but also marked a rare, vulnerable moment for the actor, known for his stoic, larger-than-life screen presence.

For many in attendance, the moment felt symbolic. Sunny Deol, long associated with patriotic cinema and emotionally charged performances, appeared to be channeling both personal grief and cinematic intensity into the dialogue. The event marked his return to the public eye after a period of mourning, making the teaser launch especially poignant.

Soon after the teaser dropped, T-Series shared it on YouTube with the caption: “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye… This Vijay Diwas, celebrate the most anticipated teaser of the year. Border 2 | In Cinemas 23rd Jan 2026 Jai Hind.” The post further amplified the patriotic tone of the film and positioned the teaser as a tribute aligned with national sentiment.
