Acclaimed Bollywood actor Boman Irani is set to make his directorial debut with The Mehta Boys, which will premiere at the 15th edition of the Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) on September 20. The film, featuring Boman Irani, Shreya Chaudhry, and Avinash Tiwary, explores the complexities of an estranged father-son relationship while delving into themes of identity, family, and belonging.

Shreya Chaudhry, who plays the female lead in the film, expressed her excitement about the world premiere. “I am absolutely thrilled to be heading to Chicago for the South Asian Film Festival, especially since our film, The Mehta Boys, will have its world premiere at the festival on the opening night!” she said. “It’s an absolute honor to have our work showcased on such a prestigious platform, and it is incredibly fulfilling to receive this international recognition.”

Reflecting on her experience working on the film, Shreya Chaudhry shared her admiration for Boman Irani. “The Mehta Boys is a very special film for me. It has been a tremendous honor not only to act in it but also to be directed by a legend like Boman Irani. It’s an experience I will always cherish. Collaborating with Oscar-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris at such an early stage of my career is also something I’m very grateful for. Boman sir’s expertise and passion for the craft made every day on set a masterclass. I’m incredibly thankful to him for trusting me with this role and allowing me to be part of this journey.”
