As the trailer of Metro... In Dino was unveiled at a grand event, the cast and crew came together to celebrate the final chapter of Anurag Basu’s acclaimed hyperlink trilogy. Among them was Sara Ali Khan, who talked about a special couple in her life.
During the media interaction, Sara was asked who she considers the ultimate power couple. Without hesitation, she responded, “For me, it’s my father and Kareena.”
Her candid answer drew smiles from the audience, as she called Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan the power couple she admires most.
Before marrying Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan was married to Amrita Singh for 13 years, from 1991-2004. Amrita and Saif share two kids, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan.
The event took an emotional turn when director Anurag Basu was asked whether the team missed the presence of the late singer KK, whose songs had become an integral part of Basu’s cinematic universe. Reflecting on the deep impact KK had on his work, Basu responded with a heartfelt tribute: “The whole film is a tribute to KK, the whole film is a tribute to Irrfan. So we all miss him.”
He went on to recall KK’s unmatched synergy with composer Pritam: “Because I was talking to Bhushan ji, Pritam ki compositions ko na sabse zyaada KK compliment krta hai, the kind of scale he makes it. So yeah, but the songs are hit, because KK not only Metro, he sang all in my movies, toh obviously I miss him and we are missing him.”
Following in the footsteps of Basu's earlier hits, Life in a... Metro (2007) and Ludo (2020), Metro... In Dino presents yet another tapestry of interwoven tales set in the bustle and mayhem of urban life. Basu, who is well-known for his distinctive storytelling, once more delves into the intricacies of love and intergenerational relationships.
Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal are among the film's outstanding ensemble cast members. The movie, which is being produced by Anurag Basu Productions and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, is scheduled to hit theatres on July 4, 2025.
