Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently attended the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2025 on Day 2. The event was held in New Delhi on April 8-9. During the second day’s session, the actor talked about several aspects of his career and one of them was about his debut.
The actor talked about getting a break in his career. He revealed that he was doing theatre when someone saw him and offered him a film named 'Ek'. Randeep was offered the role of a villain in the film, but it was later shelved.
However, the actor revealed that he went to the filmmaker who had offered him the film and asked what he would do now and how he would run his household.
The actor recalled that the filmmaker said, “Tum koi aur kaam mat karna.. Tumko mai launch karunga… to maine kaha thik hai ghar kaise chalega.. To unhone pucha kitna kharcha hota hai ghar ka. ("You don’t do any other work… I will launch you. So I said, okay, but how will the household run? Then he asked, how much does it cost to run your household?)”

The actor added, “To maine bada chada kar bola ji Rs 35,000 to unhone meri 35,000 ki tankha bandh di aur 3 saal tak mai kuch na kaam karne ke liye leta raha..(So I exaggerated a bit and said, 'Rs 35,000.' He fixed my salary at Rs 35,000, and for three years, I kept taking it without doing any work).”
Randeep Hooda made his Bollywood debut with Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding in 2001. The actor bagged his breakthrough role in the 2005 film D.
