A year after the terrible stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, Telangana Film Development Corporation (TGFDC) Chairman and producer Dil Raju met with Bhaskar, the father of young survivor Sritej, to talk about the family's financial support.
The meeting comes just days after Bhaskar said in public that no one was responding to his requests for more help. This caused a lot of debate and criticism on social media. After that, Allu Arjun's team released video proof to make the details of the financial help that had already been given clearer.
Allu Arjun's team sent a video statement to the media in which they said that the actor has given the family Rs 3.20 crore so far. Sritej's name is on a fixed deposit for ₹1.5 crore, which will keep it safe for a long time.
Dil Raju talked more about the financial structuring, saying, "Allu Arjun gave Rs 2 crore, and it was put in such a way that the family gets Rs 75,000 every month. This amount was meant to cover their living costs and regular medical needs. Also, it is said that about Rs 70 lakh was spent on medical care and emergency help over the past year.
In the video, Bhaskar also spoke. He said that Arjun's family had been there for them since the accident, but that they now needed more money for Sritej's ongoing rehabilitation. He said that Dil Raju had promised to help more:
"I told them what extra help they would need for the next six months. Allu Arjun garu has said he will pay for all of the medical bills. Doctors have recommended long-term therapy, and they have agreed to it.
Dil Raju told him that help would keep coming "not just for six months, but even for a year if needed."
