Ram Charan has once again set global pop culture buzzing. After the Oscar-winning wave of “Naatu Naatu” from RRR, his latest dance hook-step, “Chikiri,” has exploded into an international craze, dominating social media, influencer content, and short-video platforms at lightning speed.
The Chikiri move — a punchy foot-stomp paired with a stylish swish — first went viral across India before quickly crossing borders. Within days, dancers in the United States began picking it up, turning it into a high-energy TikTok favourite.
The Chikiri challenge has emerged as the newest must-try trend in international dance circles, from professional performers in New York studios to college crews in California.
The craze has spread surprisingly quickly throughout neighbouring Bhutan and Nepal. The Chikiri step has been replicated in classrooms, hill stations, and tourist destinations by school groups, youth communities, and travel vloggers, contributing to the trend's natural, international momentum.
