Rajinikanth gets front page honour as 'Rajinikanth Times' for 50 years in cinema

The actor has made headlines over the years for various reasons, but this time he has made it to the masthead. Rajinikanth received a special tribute from a leading newspaper.

In a historic media moment, Hindustan Times and OTTplay changed the newspaper's famous front page into "Rajinikanth Times," a full-fledged tribute honouring the superstar's 50-year cinematic reign that was produced in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video.
This is the first time in the outlet’s 100-year existence that the publication gave up its whole front page to a single person, a move typically reserved for a phenomenon that long ago straddled the line between myth and actor.

The masthead and visual language were changed, and the familiar seriousness of the broadsheet was replaced with a bold homage to the man whose on-screen swagger has shaped pop culture for fifty years.

However, Fever FM also brought the tribute to life on radio, looping fans, listeners, and lifelong Thalaivar devotees into a unique, multi-platform cultural crescendo that combined nostalgia with contemporary storytelling. The HT Media network carried the homage across platforms.
