Rahil Azim, who has portrayed several memorable characters over his 25-year career, has once again impressed audiences with his role as Parag Kothari in Anupamaa. The character, a strict yet affectionate father, has resonated deeply with viewers. While Rahil is overwhelmed with the love he has been receiving, he credits producer Rajan Shahi for entrusting him with the role and recognizing his talent.

“Having talent is wonderful, but what’s more important is having someone who can truly recognize and respect it,” Rahil shared. “In my journey, only a few people have genuinely understood my craft, and Rajan ji is one of them. When I got the call for Anupamaa, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never worked with him before. But soon I realized he had seen something in me that made him believe I was right for Parag Kothari.”

One moment that particularly stands out for Rahil is the emotional farewell scene between Parag and his daughter Prarthana. “The way Rajan ji envisioned and wrote that scene was powerful. Even after working for so many years, I was nervous because I wanted to do justice to his vision. It doubled my responsibility as an actor,” he recalled.

What made the experience even more special was the personal appreciation he received from Rajan Shahi. “Rajan ji messaged me saying he thought it was one of my finest performances. He appreciated the depth and vulnerability I brought to portray a father’s pain. Listening to his words left me speechless—it gave me new energy to keep pushing myself further,” Rahil said with gratitude.
