With just two days remaining for the release of the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 5, excitement is reaching a fever pitch. In an interesting development, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a significant increase in ticket prices, with rates soaring up to Rs 944.
According to an India Today report, Pushpa 2: The Rule tickets have set a new record, becoming the highest-priced ever for a Telugu film. The paid preview shows will take place on Wednesday, December 4, at 9:30 pm in select theatres, with tickets priced at Rs 944 (including GST) for both single screens and multiplexes.
The Andhra Pradesh government has authorized six daily shows for Pushpa 2 across single screens and multiplexes, with ticket prices set at Rs 324.50 and Rs 413, respectively. Furthermore, the state will allow five shows at these rates from December 6 to 17.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government faced criticism for raising ticket prices for Pushpa 2, with rates set at Rs 1,200 for paid previews, Rs 531 for multiplexes, and Rs 354 for single screens. A petition challenging this price hike is scheduled to be heard in the Telangana High Court on December 3, just one day before the film's premiere.
In another remarkable achievement, Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has made a massive impact with advance bookings, crossing the Rs 50-crore mark and selling 1 million tickets on BookMyShow. This achievement has broken records previously set by blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and K.G.F.: Chapter 2, as per the latest trade reports.
In a surprising development, the 3D version of Pushpa 2: The Rule will not be available on its release day. While the film was initially set to screen in 2D, IMAX 2D, and 3D formats in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, it has now been confirmed that the Hindi version will also not feature midnight shows on December 4, as scheduled originally.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, Pushpa 2: The Rule will feature Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil returning to their iconic roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.
