Pushpa 2: The Rule is making waves at the box office, having broken multiple records in India within just a week of its release on December 5. The Allu Arjun starrer is also creating a buzz in North America, surpassing even Christopher Nolan's Interstellar in box office earnings.
According to Box Office Mojo, Pushpa 2: The Rule has surpassed Christopher Nolan's acclaimed sci-fi drama Interstellar in North America within its first few days of release. It has earned $9.3 million gross million from its theatrical release across 1,245 theaters, as of the box office update for Monday.
The film is currently ranked fourth, trailing behind Moana 2, Wicked, and Gladiator 2.
In the same box office update, Interstellar ranks just behind Pushpa 2: The Rule at the fifth spot. The film has grossed $4.4 million till Monday following its IMAX re-release in 165 theaters.
In India, Pushpa 2 has taken over all IMAX screens, leading to the postponement of the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. The film has raked in over Rs 800 crore globally within just four days.

Notably, the Hindi version of Pushpa 2 has outperformed the original Telugu version, becoming the first Hindi film to surpass Rs 80 crore nett in India. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 141.5 crore nett in India on December 8, with the Hindi version contributing an impressive Rs 85 crore nett, while the Telugu version brought in Rs 44 crore nett.
Meanwhile, directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule follows the journey of Pushpa Raj, a red sandalwood smuggler, as he battles to earn respect from his distant family and confronts the relentless police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Srivalli, in the film.
