The accident, which led to Pawandeep's hospitalization, took place in the early hours of May 5. He, along with musician Ajay Mahar and driver Rahul Singh, was en route from Uttarakhand to Noida when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the highway. The incident occurred near the Chaupala Chauraha overbridge within the Gajraula police station area of Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. Reports indicate that the accident was primarily caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel.

Upon impact, Pawandeep sustained multiple fractures in both his arms and legs. He was initially rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Fortis Hospital in Noida for more specialized care. His condition was critical upon admission, necessitating immediate placement in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Over a challenging period of 25 days, Pawandeep underwent more than three surgeries, a testament to the severity of his injuries and the dedicated medical care he received, before finally being declared fit for discharge.
