Pawan Kalyan showers praise on director Sujeeth at OG pre-release event, says, "His strength can be seen when he directs"

The pre-release event of They Call Him OG turned into a celebration of cinema and fandom when Power Star Pawan Kalyan lauded the film’s director, Sujeeth, with heartfelt words. The gathering, attended by the film’s cast and crew, showcased the deep bond between the actor and the filmmaker, who has admired Kalyan since childhood.

Pawan Kalyan arrived to thunderous applause and was joined on stage by director Sujeeth, Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Sriya Reddy, and other key members of the team. In his speech, the star recalled Sujeeth’s journey from being an ardent admirer to helming one of the year’s most anticipated projects. He pointed out that Sujeeth wasn’t “an ordinary fan” but someone who carried his admiration with sincerity and purpose, even wearing a headband from Kalyan’s film Johnny for a month during his youth.

The event faced heavy rain disruptions, but spirits remained high as Pawan continued to praise the Saaho director. He credited filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas for suggesting a collaboration with Sujeeth after Saaho, and expressed his gratitude for being guided toward a partnership that has blossomed into They Call Him OG.

Highlighting Sujeeth’s style, Kalyan mentioned that the director doesn’t narrate stories with elaborate detail but instead shows his strength on set. “His strength can be seen when he directs,” Kalyan said, applauding the filmmaker’s clarity and conviction. He even joked that Sujeeth’s vision for his character Ojas Gambheera was so powerful that he nearly forgot his real-life role as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
