As the release date for Sarzameen draws near, excitement continues to build around the Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer.
Slated to premiere on 25 July exclusively on JioHotstar, the makers have now unveiled a gripping new video from the film, offering deeper insight into its emotionally charged world of patriotism, fractured family ties, and sacrifice.
The latest promo was shared with the caption: “Dono apne, per saath sirf ek ka de sakti hai Meher! #Sarzameen, releasing July 25, only on @JioHotstar.” The line hints at the emotional complexity faced by Kajol’s character, Meher, who must choose between two loved ones.
The clip has stirred social media with fans eagerly awaiting her performance. One fan commented, “Counting the days to watch #sarzameen and also excited to see Kajol’s role. I’m sure she will be creative as she always does in all her films.” Another wrote, “Never imagine Kajol with Prithvi… but they are looking dam good in one frame… she is looking perfect witl.. not only srk.”
Adding to the buzz, Ibrahim Ali Khan recently shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film. The debutant, who plays Harman—the troubled son of Prithviraj’s army officer Vijay Menon—has undergone an impressive transformation to portray a youth lured into terrorism.
His Instagram carousel featured monochrome shots in uniform, camouflage training, sniper sequences, and rugged jungle setups. Captioning the post, Ibrahim wrote, “9 days to go #sarzameendiaries.”
Sarzameen charts the emotional and ideological rift between father and son against the tense backdrop of terrorism in Kashmir. Prithviraj’s Vijay Menon is a decorated officer devoted to his country, while Kajol’s Meher is a mother torn between national duty and her son’s dangerous choices. The layered narrative promises a hard-hitting look at familial bonds under strain.

Ibrahim was last seen in Nadaaniyan, a romantic drama opposite Khushi Kapoor that premiered on Netflix. While the film received a mixed response, Sarzameen presents a darker, more complex role that could solidify his presence in the industry.
With just days to go, Sarzameen is shaping up to be a tense, emotional thriller worth watching.
