Narcos: Mexico actor Manuel Masalva is currently battling for his life. The actor is in a medically induced coma due to a severe bacterial infection he contracted while on vacation.
Manuel’s close friend, Mario Morán, posted a video on his TikTok and updated his followers on the actor’s health. He said, “My brother is fighting for his life far away from home.”
The actor’s friend further explained that Masalva “fell victim to a very aggressive virus” while on vacation. He added in the video, “This led him to an induced coma. As of today, his situation remains delicate.”
He also shared an update and said, “As of today, his situation remains delicate.” However, Mario further noted that he has also created a GoFundMe page to help cover the actor's medical expenses.
He said, “The medical costs are enormous and in a country where everything is more difficult, any help, no matter how small, can make the difference in this very difficult moment.” He concluded, “If you can contribute, we thank you with our entire hearts.”
Manuel Masalva is currently in critical condition, but the “bacteria” has “already been detected,” according to the GoFundMe page. The post was written in Spanish and reads, “He’s on antibiotics, and we’re waiting for him to begin to improve.”
The campaign organizers expressed gratitude to donors and announced that they had exceeded their target of 1 million Mexican Pesos.
The post continued, “Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far; your generosity and support are crucial during this difficult time for Manuel and his loved ones. We deeply appreciate the generosity of acquaintances, friends, and family.”
The organizers concluded the post by writing, “Together, we can make a huge difference for Manuel and provide him with the strength and support he needs to recover.”

For the unversed, Manuel Masalva rose to stardom with his role as Ramón Arellano Félix in Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico. The Netflix spinoff series also starred Michael Peña, Scoot McNairy and Diego Luna in key roles.
However, the actor has also starred in the Mexican series La Guzmán and Tengo Que Morir Todas Las Noches.
