In a deeply personal revelation, popular Punjabi singer and Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh recently shared the poignant story of his childhood struggles. The 40-year-old performer opened up in an interview about a significant chapter from his childhood that profoundly impacted his life. Hailing from the village of Dosanjh Kalan in Punjab, Diljit disclosed that at the tender age of 11, his parents made the decision to send him away to live with a relative in Ludhiana, without consulting him.

Reflecting on this pivotal moment, Dosanjh revealed how the separation strained his relationship with his parents. Recounting the experience, he expressed, "I was eleven years old when I left my home and started living with my mamaji." The transition from his rural upbringing to urban life in Ludhiana marked a significant shift for the young Dosanjh. He continued, stating, "I came to the city leaving my village behind. I shifted to Ludhiana. He (Diljit’s maternal uncle) said ‘send him to the city with me’ and my parents said ‘yes, take him.’ My parents did not even ask me.”
