Legendary Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a cameo role in upcoming sequel ‘Fakt Purusho Maate.’
The Gujarati film is a sequel to the 2022 hit comedy drama ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ where Bachchan played the lead role. In the film, a young boy’s wish of being able to understand women gets granted and he finds himself being able to read every woman’s thoughts and decides to help others with their relationship problems.
The sequel is a family drama based on the social themes of gender equality and conflict between generations.
Bachchan will play God in the film. Literally.
This isn’t the first time Big B has stepped into the shoes of God for a film — he played God in ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ (2008) too.
The cast for ‘Fakt Purusho Maate’ also includes Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara and Darshan Jariwala. The sequel is directed by jay Bodas who helmed the first film too.
On working with Amitabh Bachchan, producer Anand Pandit said, “We shot with Mr. Bachchan on June 6 and everyone on the set was awestruck by his energy, dedication, legendary professionalism and his larger-than-life presence. He was a very special part of ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ as well and to be honest, it is hard for me to imagine a project without him. Anyone who has worked with him once, wants to work with him again and again.”
Producer Vishal Shah added, “Mr. Bachchan plays a very interesting role in this sequel to ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ and is in a way central to the way the story unfolds. His enduring stardom is a phenomenon that cannot be put in words and this film will once again show why he continues to be a legend.”
Bachchan will next be seen in the science fiction film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ on 27 June.
‘Fakt Purusho Maate’ will reportedly be released by the end of August.
