Popular South Korean actor Song Kang has recently completed his mandatory military service and has been discharged from the military. He has served in the Army for 18 months.
He was enlisted in April 2024 and was released from his base in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, earlier today.
Song, who is well-known for his devoted fan base and outstanding filmography, completed his service and returned to civilian life without a fan event or ceremony.
Song unexpectedly appeared in the Ministry of National Defence's public campaign video for the "Defence Help Call" program while he was serving.
Additionally, his pictures with BTS member V from their time together in the military went viral on social media.
Despite being enlisted in the military, Song Kang continues to ride on the success of his K-drama releases. Song will return in the highly anticipated Netflix K-drama Sweet Home Season 3. He will reprise his role as Cha Hyun Soo. Additionally, he had a cameo in the movie The Escape.
The actor will now focus on his comeback to acting as he has concluded his enlistment.

Earlier this year, his agency, Namoo Actors, confirmed that he is thinking about playing a part in the upcoming drama "Four Hands," which is aimed at young people and takes place in an arts high school. However, an official update is awaited.
Song Kang is known for his role in the 2017 K-drama, The Liar and His Lover (2017). He has since built a reputation for emotionally resonant roles in hits like Love Alarm, Nevertheless, My Demon, and the Sweet Home series. The actor has cemented his status as one of Netflix Korea’s top-tier male leads.
