Kaalidhar Laapata trailer: Abhishek Bachchan leads this tale about second chances and unlikely friendships in life

The makers of upcoming film Kaalidhar Laapata dropped the trailer of  this touching dramedy that weaves together themes of life, loss, laughter, and the unexpected joy of companionship on Staurday.

The film, starring Abhishek Bachchan in the titular role, also features Zeeshan Ayyub and Daivik Bhagela in key parts.

ZEE5 unveiled the trailer on its social media platforms on Saturday, June 21 along with a gripping caption, "Kabhi kabhi life mein second chances lene padte hai, and that’s when the most unexpected experiences and bonds are born. A soul-stirring slice-of-life awaits. Kaalidhar Laapata premieres 4th July, only on #ZEE5. Trailer out now."

Kaalidhar Laapata chronicles his moving journey of a middle-aged man dealing with memory loss, abandonment, and a lifetime of emotional scars. Kaalidhar bravely decides to disappear on his own terms after hearing his own siblings plot to abandon him at the busy Maha Kumbh Mela. Through fate, he meets Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), an intelligent, self-reliant 8-year-old boy surviving alone on the busy streets of India. What begins as a chance meeting quickly turns into a life-changing friendship.

Speaking about the film and his character, Abhishek Bachchan said, “As actors, we often hope for stories that move us before they move anyone else—and Kaalidhar Laapata did exactly that. Playing Kaalidhar was not just a role, it was a revelation. He’s fragile, childlike and deeply human—and through him, I got to explore parts of myself I hadn’t visited in a while.
