BTS fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the global K-pop superstars, and now there's some fresh hope. In a recent series of live sessions on Weverse, BTS members Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook reunited with fans to share memories, laughter, and a major update — BTS is gearing up for a new album, their first full group release in four years.
During a heartfelt and humorous chat, Jimin and Jungkook recalled a moment from their time in the military. As translated by @BTStranslation on X, Jimin shared that one night while trying to fall asleep, he heard Jungkook singing in his sleep — and it sounded amazing. Jungkook explained that he had a “nested dream” with a beautiful melody and woke up wanting to record it. However, since they didn’t have their phones in the military, it wasn’t possible. Jimin laughed and noted, “You wouldn’t have been able to record it anyway,” to which Jungkook replied, “I could have remembered it if I had been awake.”
But the most exciting news came when the two discussed BTS’ upcoming album. Jungkook revealed, “We're aiming for next spring. Now, no matter what the outcome is, we have to release something. Right?” Jimin agreed, adding, “Our ARMY has waited so long, we can't delay it any longer.” Jungkook added, “We have to work hard until next spring. Honestly, I’m a bit worried.”
This album will mark the group’s first project together since their 2020 release, BE. With all members now discharged from military duties — Jin and J-Hope last year, and the rest in recent months — BTS is poised for a full-fledged reunion in 2025.
Jungkook also reflected on his own songwriting process, comparing himself to BTS leader RM. “I can't write lyrics like Namjoon-hyung. I'm very straightforward and realistic, so the wording doesn't come out,” he said.
