Javed Akhtar hosts a special Urdu session at British Parliament

Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar is currently in London and represents India in the country. He organised a special session on Urdu at the British Parliament, and his actor wife, Shabana Azmi, shared the thrilling update on her social media.

Shabana Azmi took to her Instagram and shared a photo of herself with Javed Akhtar posing together outside the iconic House of Lords in London, where the session took place. She shared in the caption, “At the British parliament where #Javed Akhtar had a session on #Urdu at the #House Of Lords.”
For the session, the couple twinned in traditional white attire as they smiled for the cameras, posing in front of the historic monument.

Several fans and celebrities, including Dia Mirza and Urmila Matondkar, took to the comment section to express their admiration under the post and praised the couple.

Javed Akhtar has also attended the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament 2025 final match on July 14 with Farhan Akhtar and his wife, Shibani Dandekar. However, Shabana and Javed have previously shared updates from their trip to London on their social media.
