On the eve of Friendship Day, August 2, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali sent fans into a frenzy by unveiling his next project — a heartfelt drama titled Side Heroes.
The film, which stars Varun Sharma, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, will follow the bittersweet journey of three childhood friends who get back together after being apart for years.
The story delves into themes of friendship, lost dreams, love, nostalgia, and the pursuit of happiness as they reunite during a long-overdue reunion. It is a funny and poignant journey.
Mahaveer Jain Films, working with Imtiaz Ali, Abhishek, Aparshakti, and Varun, shared a teaser video on social media to make a light-hearted and humorous announcement about the movie. The playful video, which was full of the trio's trademark humour, gave viewers a sneak peek at the tone and camaraderie of the movie and immediately stoked their interest in what was to come.
Directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, Side Heroes features a script co-written by Siddarth Sen and Pankaj Matta, promising a compelling blend of heart and humour.
Producers Mahaveer Jain and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba expressed their excitement for the project, stating that they are thrilled to be part of a film that blends meaningful storytelling with wide audience appeal. they stated, "Stories told from the heart, for the heart, always resonate with us. Side Heroes is a script we immediately connected with, the tale of three friends looking back on their lives during a reunion, told through a blend of humor and emotion."

Side Heroes is being produced by Imtiaz Ali, Mahaveer Jain, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Reeyan Shah. The film will be presented by Lyca Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films in association with Window Seat Films.
