Ilaiyaraaja recently addressed the controversy surrounding his visit to the Srivilliputhur Aandal temple in Tamil Nadu. During his visit, the music legend, accompanied by Sadagopa Ramanuja Iyer and Sadagopa Ramanuja Jeeyar, was reportedly asked by temple authorities to step out of the sacred chamber when they proceeded towards the deity.

Ilaiyaraaja clarified the situation, stating it was a misunderstanding and expressed respect for the temple's practices. The visit was part of his initiative to release his new composition, ‘Divya Pasuram.’

Addressing the rumours, Ilaiyaraaja clarified that it was false. The maestro wrote in Tamil, "Some people are spreading false rumours centred around me. I am not one to compromise my self-respect at any time or place, and I will not compromise. They are spreading news that did not happen as if it happened. Fans and the public should not believe these rumours."
