Sanam Teri Kasam was recently re-released in theatres and is expected to cross its past box office records. The film failed to receive the expected response from the audience during its initial release in 2016. However, the classic tragic love story eventually earned fans’ attention pushing the makers to re-release it in India.

Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, Sanam Teri Kasam has become the highest-grossing re-release film ever. The movie has surpassed the collection of folk horror films Tumbbad. Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released on February 7, 2025, in theatres and reportedly grossed Rs 30.67 crore in its first week. Meanwhile, its worldwide re-release is Rs 36 crore so far.

However, the film saw a dip in its collection but still, the movie is anticipated to enter the 50 crore club becoming the biggest re-release grosser at the Indian box office. The film was made with a budget of 5 crore and has recently gained popularity ahead of Valentine’s Day. The film was widely streamed by the fans on OTT platforms taking the trending spot.

Sanam Teri Kasam is about a tough ex-convict Inder played by Harshvardhan Rane and a traditional librarian Saru essayed by Mawra Hocane. The film took a surprising twist after Inder and Saru fell in love and got married that changed Inder’s life forever.

Harshvardhan Rane was last seen in The Miranda Brothers alongside Milap Zaveri. The film revolves around an orphan rescued from trash who becomes devoted to his elder brother. Both brothers aspire to be star footballers until the suspicious death of their mother threatens to tear them apart.
