Govinda's son Yashwardhan shares update on father's health, says, "ab ek do hafto mein dance bhi karna chalu kar lenge"

Govinda accidentally shot himself earlier this month. He shot himself with his own revolver. It was revealed that he was cleaning his gun when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Dr Ramesh Agarwal, who treated the actor, confirmed the extent of the injury, stating Govinda received around 8 to 10 stitches. The Mumbai police has been investigating the case.

After spending a few days in the hospital, Govinda was discharged and one of the first things he did was host a press conference to clear speculations. Speaking with the media, Govinda shared the events that transpired on the morning he accidentally shot himself.

"Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened. Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua?" [It is a deep wound, and I couldn’t believe it had happened. I thought, ‘What just occurred?], he shared.

The actor recounted that he was alone when the incident occurred early in the morning, between 4:45 and 5:00 am, as he was preparing to travel to Kolkata for a show. He explained, "It was around 4:45-5:00 am. Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (I was shocked) and then saw… there was a fountain (of blood)," he recalled.

Govinda decided to take the matter in his own hands and quickly called his doctor for help. "I thought I should not associate this incident with anyone else and trouble them, so I shot some videos and was then rushed to Dr. Agarwal. He came with us and took me to Criti Care hospital," he said.
