The Pickup, the eagerly awaited action-comedy from Amazon MGM Studios, will debut globally on Prime Video on August 6. With its first-look photos, the movie, which stars Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer, has already excited fans.

The Pickup, directed by Tim Story—who has helmed successful films like Ride Along, Barbershop, and The Blackening—focuses on what at first glance appears to be a standard armoured truck job that swiftly devolves into mayhem.

Murphy plays Russell, a tough, no-nonsense driver who is paired with Davidson's eccentric and erratic character, Travis. Their otherwise ordinary day is thrown into turmoil when they are suddenly attacked by a ruthless gang led by Zoe, played by Palmer. Zoe is a cunning and strategic mastermind with ambitions that far surpass the cash they are trying to steal.

What starts as a typical job soon transforms into a frenetic, high-stakes adventure filled with clashing personalities and unforeseen partnerships. The film promises to deliver the perfect blend of sharp humour and intense action, a hallmark of Story’s directorial style. Audiences can expect a rollercoaster of escalating mayhem, as the characters navigate through danger and deception.
