Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir starrer Sardaar Ji 3 has remained in the spotlight ever since its trailer release, largely due to the backlash over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
Even though the decision caused controversy and prevented the movie from being released in theatres in India, Sardaar Ji 3 is still causing a stir at the global box office.
The horror-comedy is doing very well abroad, even with the setback in India. According to Sacnilk, in just 10 days, the movie brought in an incredible Rs 42.60 crore from foreign markets, making it the highest-grossing Punjabi film of 2025 to date.
With a strong hold that indicates ongoing interest and positive word-of-mouth among global audiences, the film had a strong second weekend, earning about ₹9 crore, only 40% less than its first weekend.
With Rs 18.75 crore ($2.2 million), North America has become the movie's most lucrative region. The United Kingdom, with Rs 6.25 crore ($725K), and Pakistan, with Rs 7 crore ($830K), come next.

Due to these figures, Sardaar Ji 3 is now the third highest-grossing Punjabi film abroad, behind only Carry On Jatta 3 (Rs 46 crore) and Jatt and Juliet 3 (Rs 57.50 crore). The movie may soon overtake both and claim the top spot in Punjabi cinema's history at the international box office if its current momentum holds.
The absence of the film in Indian cinemas is due to the controversy sparked by the casting of Hania Aamir, particularly in the aftermath of the tragic Pahalgam attacks that claimed 26 lives. The casting decision led to public outcry and protests from various groups across the country, prompting the makers to forgo a domestic theatrical release.
