Australian cricketer David Warner recently made his acting debut with the Telugu film Robinhood. The batsman starred alongside South Indian actor Nithiin in the film, which recently hit the theatres. Fans were excited to see their favourite cricketer on the silver screen.
David has a cameo for just a few minutes, and the recent reports have suggested that he had received a huge paycheque for a guest appearance.
According to India TV reports, David Warner charged a hefty fee of Rs 2.5 crores for his brief cameo in Robinhood. He notably only stars for 2 minutes and 50 seconds and was required to film over just 2 days.
The cricketer reportedly charged a staggering Rs 1.25 crores per day. With this surprising paycheque, Warner has notably entered into the list of actors with the most expensive cameo appearances.
Besides Warner, Robinhood features an ensemble cast, including Nithiin as Robinhood and Sreeleela as Neera Vasudev. The film also stars Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage, Shine Tom Chacko, Aadukalam Naren, Keshav Deepak, and Mime Gopi in key roles.
Directed and penned by Venky Kudumula, the latest film is backed by producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Kumar.
Robinhood was released in theatres on March 28 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film is expected to have a great run at the worldwide box office.
