Cops summon Ajaz Khan and Ullu App owner Vibhu Agarwal over 'Vulgar' show 'House Arrest'

Mumbai Police have summoned actor and host Ajaz Khan, along with Vibhu Agarwal, the owner of the over-the-top (OTT) platform Ullu App, in response to widespread outrage over the allegedly obscene content of the show "House Arrest." The show, which streams on the Ullu App, has triggered a significant backlash from netizens who have labeled its content as vulgar and objectionable, leading to police intervention.

The Amboli police have instructed both Ajaz Khan and Vibhu Agarwal to appear and record their statements in connection with a First Information Report (FIR) registered against them. The FIR reportedly stems from complaints regarding the show's explicit nature.

The controversy erupted after clips from "House Arrest" circulated widely on social media, sparking intense criticism. These clips allegedly depicted discussions about sex positions and scenes where female participants were seemingly coerced into removing articles of their clothing, including bras and underwear. Reports suggest that the host and other individuals present in the clips reacted with jeers and applause as the women disrobed.

The viral content ignited a firestorm of condemnation across social media platforms. Numerous users expressed their deep concern and anger over the show's format and content, questioning its impact on societal values and culture. Some individuals directly tagged government officials, including the Broadcasting Minister, urging for stricter censorship and regulation of OTT platforms and television channels to curb the dissemination of such content.
