The news of ACP Pradyuman's departure from the show left millions of fans heartbroken, and now Dayanand Shetty, who plays Daya, has finally addressed the exit of the iconic character.
CID ran successfully until 2018, but its loyal fanbase never stopped hoping for its return. This year, season two was launched, but unfortunately, it has left fans feeling heartbroken once again.
In an interview with Telly Chakkar, Dayanand explained, "It was a creative decision made by the channel and production team. The news came as quite a shock to all of us. At the moment, he’s not filming with us, and we genuinely feel his absence on set. Since the decision was made by the makers, we’re not entirely sure of the reasons behind it, so it’s difficult for us to comment. But we sincerely hope he makes a return, and the entire cast and crew truly miss him."
In a shocking twist, the character is written off after being killed by the antagonist, Barboza. Satam himself confirmed that he will not be appearing in the new season, as he decided to take a break from acting to spend quality time with his family. This has undoubtedly left a void in the hearts of fans who fondly remember his commanding presence on the show.
In the wake of Satam’s exit, CID has introduced Parth Samthaan as the new ACP, taking on the role of ACP Ayushmaan. Samthaan, who grew up watching the show, expressed his excitement about joining the iconic series.
Speaking to Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, he shared, “When I discussed it with my family, they first thought it was a joke. But when I told them seriously, they were very proud. It is a huge responsibility to fill in the shoes of ACP Pradyuman, as I am replacing him as ACP Ayushmaan. It’s a new character, a new story, and with fresh thrills and suspense, we will take the story forward.”
As CID embarks on a new chapter with its revamped cast, fans are eager to see how the show evolves without its legendary figures, but still hopeful that the spirit of the original will remain.
