Pop trailblazer Charli XCX has tied the knot with The 1975’s drummer George Daniel in a private and heartfelt ceremony held at Hackney Town Hall, London, on Saturday, 19 July.
The pair, known for blending edgy artistry with chart-topping success, said their vows surrounded by close friends and family, marking a stylish and intimate celebration of their love story.
The 31-year-old singer, best known for her critically acclaimed album Brat and the viral hit Von Dutch, looked effortlessly chic in a silky off-shoulder ivory midi dress.
She completed her look with a traditional tulle veil, minimal jewellery, and her trademark black sunglasses—delivering a quintessentially Charli fashion moment. Meanwhile, Daniel, 34, kept things timeless in a simple, well-tailored suit.
Though the wedding was low-key, it wasn’t without star power. Guests included Charli’s parents and members of The 1975, though notably absent was frontman Matty Healy, whose presence had been widely speculated. Photos from the day captured the newlyweds sharing a kiss on the steps of the town hall, beaming with joy.
Charli, born Charlotte Aitchison, announced her engagement to Daniel in November 2023 via a playful Instagram post featuring a series of candid snapshots. The couple’s romance first sparked in 2021 during the creation of the collaborative track Spinning, a project that brought together Charli, The 1975, and No Rome.
Speculation about their relationship intensified after Daniel was spotted at Charli’s Saturday Night Live performance in early 2022, and the couple went public in May that year.

The record, praised for its raw, energetic production and hyperpop influences, has further cemented Charli’s status as a defining voice of the digital pop era.
