This specific location also honours a previous scene in the movie where Hayes had briefly contemplated switching to the Baja racing scene prior to agreeing to Ruben's offer to rejoin Formula One. It discreetly highlights Hayes's ongoing love for all types of racing and acts as a nice thematic callback.

Although the scene paves the way for more narrative development, it falls short of guaranteeing a sequel. Given the original film's substantial $141 million budget and its close ties to the international Formula One spectacle, an off-road racing spinoff is possible but possibly unlikely.

More likely options for a follow-up would be for Hayes to mentor his F1 teammate, who is portrayed by Damson Idris, or to compete against a new, younger opponent on the international scene.
