Vivek Oberoi, who is set to portray Vibhishan in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated Ramayan, has donated his entire fee from the film to support children battling cancer. He has termed the project both a creative milestone and a deeply personal journey.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Vivek shared that he was moved to give back through his participation in the film. “I told Namit (Malhotra) that I don’t want a penny for this. I want to donate it to a cause I believe in — helping kids with cancer,” he said. The decision stems from his long-standing philanthropic efforts through the Project DEVI and The Cancer Patients Aid Association.
Speaking about his excitement for Ramayan, Vivek described it as “India’s answer to Hollywood epics.” He added that the project holds a special place in his heart not just for its grandeur but also for its cultural resonance.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan. The cast also includes Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Adinath Kothare, and Sheeba Chaddha. Touted as Bollywood’s most ambitious project yet, Ramayan: Part 1 is expected to blend mythological authenticity with world-class visual effects.
Vivek has a strong line-up of upcoming films, including Masti 4 and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit alongside Prabhas. “They say the universe works on vibrations and how you feel. When you’re at ease with yourself, not desperate or stressed about your career, things fall into place. I’m relaxed, listening to a lot of scripts, and lucky to choose projects purely out of passion, not compulsion,” he remarked.
