Deepika Padukone sparked controversy after she allegedly quit the much-awaited sequel to Kalki 2989 AD. Following her exit, a Reddit post claimed that the credits of makers have removed Deepika’s name from the end credits on the OTT platform.
However, it now appears that her name has been added back in the cast list. After a screenshot of Kalki 2989 AD's end credits went viral without Deepika's name in it, the film's creators faced significant criticism. Kalki 2989 AD is currently available for streaming in multiple languages on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The makers’ move has left the fans baffled, and intense debate on social media.
One person wrote, "@VyjayanthiFilms removed Deepika Padukone from end credits in Kalki PART 1 from the OTT platforms… Maybe the worst production house to exist…you guys deserve to rot in hell lmao.. Removing name from end credits will remove her impact from the film? Seriously?"
Another added, "So petty of them. They didn't have it during release, only added it later when fans begged and now removed again.. so-called respected female producers."
However, according to Zoom, Deepika's name was there in the end credits.
Deepika Padukone's removal from the Kalki 2898 AD sequel was confirmed by Vyjayanthi Films, shocking and upsetting fans.
The news of Deepika Padukone's return to Kalki 2989 AD credits was all the more disappointing for her fans because Deepika, who portrayed the beloved character of Sumati in the first part, had received a lot of praise for her strong performance.
