Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his real estate portfolio once again with a fresh purchase in Alibaug, Maharashtra’s favorite coastal getaway for the elite. The actor has bought three adjoining land parcels in the luxury project ‘A Alibaug Phase-2,’ developed by the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL).
According to property registration documents, the total area of the three plots measures 9,557 square feet and is valued at a combined Rs 6.59 crore. The plots are numbered 96, 97, and 98, and have been purchased from HOABL Landbuild Pvt Ltd. Individually, the plots are valued at Rs 2.78 crore, Rs 1.92 crore, and Rs 1.88 crore respectively. Bachchan paid a stamp duty of Rs 39.58 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 90,000 for the transactions, which were registered on October 7, 2025.
This is not Bachchan’s first property purchase in Alibaug. In April 2024, he had bought a 10,000 sq ft land parcel from HoABL for Rs 10 crore as part of the first phase of the same project. That purchase was part of HoABL’s 20-acre plotted development, launched in 2023, aimed at offering premium second homes in the coastal town.
The House of Abhinandan Lodha, founded in 2020, has emerged as one of the leading names in India’s luxury land development sector. With projects in Alibaug, Ayodhya, Goa, and other prime destinations, the brand has been focusing on creating gated plotted communities designed for high-end buyers seeking investment-grade real estate.
Alibaug, located about three hours by road or less than an hour by Ro-Ro ferry from South Mumbai, has evolved into one of the most sought-after second-home destinations in India. The opening of the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) has further boosted property demand, making Alibaug a top choice for both celebrities and investors looking for quiet luxury close to the city.

Several top developers are also betting big on Alibaug’s growth. Emaar India plans to build 84 villas across 25 acres, each priced between Rs 9 crore and Rs 15 crore. Oberoi Realty has acquired 81 acres for a luxury hotel and branded villas, while Hiranandani Communities recently launched ‘Hiranandani Sands,’ a 225-acre integrated township with a projected development value of Rs 17,000 crore.
Alibaug has become a preferred haven for many Bollywood names as well, with Suhana Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Kartik Aaryan reportedly owning homes or plots in the region.
Amitabh Bachchan, known for his sharp business acumen, has consistently diversified his property investments. In January 2025, he sold a duplex in Mumbai’s Andheri for around Rs 83 crore. A year earlier, he purchased a land parcel in Ayodhya for Rs 14.5 crore under HoABL’s ‘The Sarayu’ project. The Bachchan family also owns several bungalows in Juhu, including Pratiksha, Janak, Vatsa, and Ammu, each holding deep emotional and historic significance.
