Los Angeles has faced one of its most devastating wildfires, the Palisades Fire, which destroyed over 1,000 structures, making it the most destructive in the city’s history. Among the many affected were several celebrities who lost their homes to the relentless flames. Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton and Eugene Levy are among many Hollywood celebrities who have lost their homes in the wildfires, which have killed at least five people and destroyed more than 1,100 buildings till now.
Paris Hilton’s $13.54 million Malibu beachfront property, purchased in 2021, was completely destroyed. Expressing her grief on social media, Hilton described herself as “heartbroken beyond words” after witnessing her home “burn to the ground.”
Reality TV personalities Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag also lost their Pacific Palisades mansion. Acquired in 2017, the three-bedroom home was reduced to ashes. Pratt shared the devastating news on Instagram, urging others in the state to stay safe. Fortunately, the couple and their two sons evacuated safely.
Actors Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s $6.5 million mansion, bought in 2019, was among the properties destroyed. The five-bedroom residence in Pacific Palisades was engulfed by the flames, marking a significant loss for the couple.
Actress Anna Faris, known for her roles in the “Scary Movie” series and “The House Bunny,” lost her Pacific Palisades home. Purchased in 2018 for $4.9 million, the residence was destroyed by the wildfire.

Billy Crystal, 76, and his wife, Janice, released a statement confirming they had lost their Pacific Palisades home of 46 years. “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy,” the Crystals said.
“Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this. We pray for the safety of the fire fighters and first responders. The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home.”
Schitt’s Creek actor Levy's home was also burnt in the wildfires. Levy is also the honorary mayor of the Pacific Palisades.
Actor Cary Elwes said that his family had safely evacuated but said his Malibu home was destroyed. “Sadly we did lose our home but we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire,” he wrote. “Our hearts go out to all the families impacted by this tragic event and we also wish to extend our gratitude to all the fire fighters, first responders and law enforcement who worked so tirelessly through the night and are still at it.”
Renowned songwriter Diane Warren’s beach house of 30 years was also claimed by the fires. Despite the loss, Warren expressed relief that the animals and rescue ranch she cares for remained safe, sharing a hopeful message on Instagram.
Actor James Woods broke down during a live interview, recounting the loss of his newly renovated Pacific Palisades home. He described the scene as “like an inferno,” highlighting the rapid and destructive nature of the wildfire.
The Palisades Fire, fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, not only destroyed homes but also led to the evacuation of approximately 30,000 residents, including numerous high-profile individuals. The entertainment industry responded by canceling events, such as the Los Angeles premieres of Universal Pictures’ “Wolf Man” and Amazon MGM Studios’ “Unstoppable,” in light of the disaster.
Mandy Moore, renowned actress and singer, shared the heartbreaking news that her Altadena residence was destroyed. She expressed her devastation on social media, stating, “I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb.” Despite the loss, Moore expressed gratitude for her family’s safety and the support from friends, emphasizing the community’s resolve to rebuild together
