The much-awaited wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been placed on an indefinite pause, shifting the focus from celebration to concern as both families navigate unexpected health emergencies.
On November 23, 2025, what was supposed to be a happy union has now become a very emotional moment for the couple, who have unquestionably chosen family over celebrations.
The first sign of trouble came from Smriti’s home, where her father—someone she has always been deeply attached to—fell seriously unwell on Sunday morning.

Renowned singer Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister, shared the heartbreaking update with grace and sensitivity. Posting on Instagram, she wrote, "Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time."
As per India Today, Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, further explained how the morning unfolded. "Today in the morning, when Smriti's father was having breakfast, his health deteriorated. We waited for a bit… But when it deteriorated further, we called for an ambulance… he is under observation."
Tuhin added, "Smriti is very close to her father… she has decided that the marriage will be indefinitely postponed until he gets well."
Amid all this, the Muchhal family too has been dealing with its own worry. Groom-to-be Palash Muchhal reportedly suffered from a viral infection coupled with severe acidity, leading to a brief hospitalisation.
While he has now been discharged, the scare has added to the emotional strain both families are carrying.
No new date has been set, and for now, the focus remains firmly on recovery and family health.
