In a recent update, Amitabh Bachchan has put to rest all the rumours regarding his absence from hosting the upcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
SonyTV has unveiled an engaging new promo for the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), generating excitement for the return of the popular quiz show. As the show gears up for its comeback, registration for contestants will soon be open, and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan will once again return as the host.
In the newly released promo, Bachchan is seen writhing in apparent pain on a couch while a doctor questions him about his symptoms. With his signature wit, the actor reassures the doctor that he hasn’t eaten any ‘chatar patar’ (street food), yet his stomach still aches.
The doctor humorously speculates that the discomfort may be caused by “some gossip” causing him trouble. After a brief pause, Amitabh drops the exciting news that registration for KBC 17 will open from April 14, adding that the pain was purely an act. "No actual pain," he assures his fans.
The registration process will begin on April 14, followed by auditions and the selection of contestants. Video packages will be prepared, and the actual season is expected to air later in August. Fans of the show are eagerly awaiting the chance to see the new season unfold, with fresh changes expected to spice things up.
In a recent blog post, Amitabh Bachchan reflected on the emotional impact of the show, describing how it provides not only a platform for contestants to win substantial cash prizes but also a chance to share their personal stories. He wrote, "Some fresh new interesting changes in the GAME and the impact it will have and the learnings .. but above all the 'emotions' that overcome us all when the outcome of the contestant before us narrates his or her story. The dire circumstances they exist in and then the volume of their years of distress... and suddenly they find themselves here on the 'garam kursi' and they get taken up by the emotion of the moment."
Bachchan has been the face of Kaun Banega Crorepati since its debut in 2000, with the exception of the third season in 2007, which was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this iconic quiz show.
