"It would be the one who forged the industry – from being an assistant director to directing his films – the recent one being Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. I am talking about Karan Johar. He sent me the fondest message," Verma shared.

Although he refrained from revealing the exact contents of the message, Verma expressed how it made him feel deeply appreciated: “The message was so sweet that it made me feel like I know him for ten years. As if I were a major part of his life. That’s how welcoming and comforting he was.” He also added that for someone like him, who came from outside the industry, such gestures of kindness were especially meaningful. "Whenever you come from outside the industry, you just want that comfort sometimes, that people are welcoming towards you, and personalities like him appreciate the talent."
